MY WORK
Theater

That Poor Girl and How He Killed Her all revolved around Leading role Alyssa Long, played by Miss Evy herself! This was a deeply thought out character that took all my might. I held on lot of responsibilities as an actor, not only because of her mental health and the dark debates but also, with the complex twist and unknown to the audience. Alyssa's a complicated underlying role that I had to take on while still keeping the audience engaged and knowledgeable. I am honored to have been a voice in the world to show that no one is alone, even when it feels like it. A problemless world with many problems on the inside. This world itself is so crowd and hot but yet so cold and lonely so this was beautiful to share.

I never realized how funny I was until I kept getting put into comedies. I love my silly side and had the pleasure of diving fully into it. A devised play created by the ensemble was a treat! This play has taken a storm, being featured on a TIME SQUARE BILLBOARD. Many runs of this show from manhattan to Brooklyn and more to come. A clown show based off of ourselves but, to the extreme. A open, expressive, vulnerable moment in my career. Flip my clown will always be special to me. The name came out of my mouth before it entered my brain when my director asked my name in a improv, it just came out. ( I was thinking of flipz the chocolate cover pretzels.) She was a magical innocent cutie, that pole dances on the side, smokes till she's out of cigarettes, and sings like Cindy Lauper. Mad Mad Mad, was about Nuclear destruction in the cold war, specifically 1983. Russia vs USA with clowns; like dogs playing poker. There is more to come hopefully a tour. I am so proud to have been in this production as a creator and perfomer.

Shakespeare can be a challenge as an actor and boy did I take it on and love it! The fact that I can even do Shakespeare didn't occur to me for the longest time; the idea actually scared me. But because I am a strong good actor I did what any actor would do; do what scares the hell out of me and come in very opened minded. I said to myself, I'll fail while I can and see what I can do. I just follow any impulse without apologizing. I took on Twelfth Night by storm as the spunky hardcore girl boss, Maria! The barbie Malibu/White lotus version of the world was a total fantasy and brought in a younger audience that completely understood the play and lived the journey with us. I loved my take on the part and was spewing with joy when I heard other actors versions; but my grungy early 2000s vibe had to be my favorite.

This play EVERYBODY is a beautiful journey about life and death. A quirky version about what it means to die. This was a challenge because we all had to play the concept of everybody, friendship, family, stuff, death, and love. I really enjoyed playing with different styles of the play; going to sic com comedy to surreal unknown, and playing with voices, and physicalizing full of life over exaggerated characters; like friendship and strength. But also confronting real life arguments and how no matter what you're going through the problems still occur; playing A was also a good opportunity to showcase myself in this project in a drastic way. This play leaves you with more questions than you had before about death, it makes you laugh with your gut and cry with your heart, it makes you think how much time you really have and connects you to all people in life.

MY WORK
FLIM

I'm a halloween queen and enjoy a good horror movie! So imagine my joy of becoming the one you should be afraid of. I love to collaborate with Director Doug Plomitallo and he loves just as much featuring me in one of his short films. I embraced the conflict as a actor and used it in the film. My main job was to respond truthful while simultaneously playing with the twist that wasn't revealed until I decided it would be. I had amusement getting scary makeup done and breaking the fourth wall. But this was just the beginning.

A quick summer project turned into a beautiful relationship. After being on set with Doug, he wanted more and created a short tailored just for me. A mind meddling film that leaves your hair raising. Looking at both point of views in this complicated relationship was my favorite part to dissect. I tend to be intrigued by disturbing characters and have a desire to go inside their brain. Villains never believe they're bad, their motive is always strong enough to defined themselves in their eyes. In real life I am nothing like the characters I have portrayed but I don't hold back and express the messy fully. I was flattered Doug wrote this 6 page short of just me sharing my story as Laurie Stratton. We broke the rules in camera, as creatives do because, this was our time to play. This world that was created had no boundaries.

I am Doug Plomitallo, a writer and director who has had the privilege of working with Evy McIntosh on several different film projects. I cannot say enough good things about Evy's strong acting ability and about the quality of person that she is. I first met her through a casting director I was working with on a short film that I wrote and directed and Evy came highly recommended. Upon meeting her, I immediately could tell why the casting director gave her such an endorsement. She took the script that I wrote and performed it better than I could have ever imagined. She had a complete understanding of the character and of the story and every take she did was fantastic. The entire movie relied on a twist ending that would be revealed through Evy's monologue at the end of the film, and again, Evy absolutely nailed it on every take. Even while there were segments in the film that she didn't have a lot of dialogue, Evy's reactions to the other characters were spot on and really helped the scene come alive. On top of her stellar acting performance, Evy was a real pleasure to have on set. Filming on a hot summer day with the air conditioner not working made for an uncomfortable shooting environment. Evy didn't complain once and maintained a positive disposition throughout the entire shoot. The second film I worked on with Evy was an experimental film in which the entire story was told by Evy's character. It was a challenging role in that while her character would originally come across as the victim, due to a twist halfway through the film, the audience realizes that her character is actually the villain. So, all of her dialogue needed to be believable both as a victim and as the aggressor simultaneously. Not an easy task and one that the entire film relied on. Once again, Evy more than surpassed my expectations and her impressive acting really made the film work. I give my highest recommendation of Evy McIntosh's acting ability and of her personal character. She is an asset to any film she is a part of and I really look forward to seeing more of her work as she is an extremely talented performer. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about my experience working with Evy.
